Meet malacat. A very serious cat on Arc. In the first panel, a wild-eyed malachite cat hugs a block: he protec. In the second, he swats a bad block: he attac. In the third, he sits proudly on finalized blocks: but most importantly… he malacat. Validates. Orders. Finalizes. Occasionally bites.

Finality holds under the protocol’s safety assumptions. Then the next height begins.

A simplified, playful illustration of the successful consensus path. The real protocol includes rounds, timeouts and fault handling. MALACAT is the mascot, not a validator.

Originally developed at Informal Systems, Malachite technology was acquired by Circle, with members of its team joining Circle to build Arc.

An independent community meme. Not affiliated with Circle, Arc, Informal Systems or the Malachite team. The mascot is a joke; holding the token does not validate or secure Arc.

the side quest / proposed utility

he also brings snacks.

The meme comes first. The proposed bonus: trading fees become USDC rewards for holders.

1% on buys

USDC buy fee: 70% toward holder rewards, 30% toward the hourly pot.

3% on sells

Sell fee collected in the token and burned.

every 15m

Scheduled distribution of accrued USDC, with a claim option. No staking planned.

Holding age would increase relative reward weight from 1× to 2× over 30 days. An hourly weighted draw, the Golden Bowl, would reward one eligible holder; pots below $50 roll over.

Proposed, pre-launch mechanics. No live token, payouts or wallet connection here. Rewards depend on actual collected trading fees, not Arc validator rewards. Final contracts, randomness and eligibility rules still need implementation.
